I=B=R SCHOOLS
For contractors, wholesalers, plumbers, and heating equipment installers, there is expert training available in basic Hydronic Heating system design and system installation. This training is provided by the I=B=R Schools, which were developed by the manufacturers of the Hydronic Institute Division of GAMA. A new one-day course is now offered in I=B=R Schools across the country. The course includes expert instruction on how to do heat loss calculations, pipe sizing, control selection and boiler sizing, baseboard and radiation selection, indirect water heating, zoning, wiring, and circulator selection. - NORTH AMERICAN TECHNICIAN EXCELLENCE, INC. (NATE)
NATE, North American Technician Excellence Inc., a leading independent, third-party certification body for HVAC/R technicians, tests technicians, which validates the technician's knowledge and a training program's instruction. NATE is the only certification program supported by all elements of the HVACR industry and has been awarded an endorsement from the Department of Energy. NATE-approved testing organizations throughout the U.S. and Canada offer NATE tests. Candidates can earn installation or service certification in ten specialty areas: air-conditioning, air distribution, heat pumps, forced air gas heating, hydronic gas heating, forced air oil heating, hydronic oil heating, commercial refrigeration (fractional up to 7.5 hp), commercial (7.5 hp to 80 hp), and the senior HVAC Efficiency Analyst. - NATIONAL OILHEAT RESEARCH ALLIANCE (NORA)
