I=B=R Schools: Training in Hydronic Heating systems using Baseboards and Radiators
For contractors, wholesalers, plumbers, and heating equipment installers, there is expert training available in basic Hydronic Heating system design and installation. This training is provided by the I=B=R Schools, which were developed by the manufacturers of the Hydronic Institute Division of GAMA. The Canadian Institute Of Plumbing And Heating (CIPH) is the major voice representing the interest of Canadian companies that manufacture, sell, and distribute plumbing, hydronic heating, Industrial PVF, and waterworks products and services. GAMA
GAMA is the national trade association of manufacturers of residential, commercial and industrial appliances and equipment, components and related products. GAMA’s scope includes oil-fired and electric equipment as well as gas-fired equipment. GAMA’s members account for over 90% of U.S. sales of gas and oil-fired space heating equipment and gas, oil and electric water heaters. GAMA also represents manufacturers of equipment used in the production, transmission and distribution of fuel gases, and manufacturers of power generation equipment such as fuel cells and micro turbines used to provide building services. GAMA's membership reaches beyond the United States with members in Canada, Japan, China, Europe, Australia and South America.

GAMA headquarters is located in Arlington, Virginia, with easy access to Congress and the federal agencies. GAMA Certification Services is located in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey. GAMA now also has an office in Beijing, China.

The Hydronics Industry Alliance is a coalition of members of the Hydronics Institute Division of GAMA. Hydronics Institute Division members participate in GAMA's Efficiency Certification Program. This voluntary Certification Program provides consumers, contractors, system designers, wholesalers, utilities, and federal and local government agencies with valuable, independent third-party verification of efficiency and capacity claims. The procedures and requirements vary depending on the program but each randomly selects and tests product samples on an annual basis to ensure compliance within prescribed tolerances to manufacturer claims and federal minimums. North American Technician Excellence, Inc. (NATE)
NATE, North American Technician Excellence Inc., a leading independent, third-party certification body for HVAC/R technicians, tests technicians, which validates the technician's knowledge and a training program's instruction. NATE is the only certification program supported by all elements of the HVACR industry and has been awarded an endorsement from the Department of Energy. NATE-approved testing organizations throughout the U.S. and Canada offer NATE tests. Candidates can earn installation or service certification in ten specialty areas: air-conditioning, air distribution, heat pumps, forced air gas heating, hydronic gas heating, forced air oil heating, hydronic oil heating, commercial refrigeration (fractional up to 7.5 hp), commercial (7.5 hp to 80 hp), and the senior HVAC Efficiency Analyst.
